More Water Cycling!

Today we took our water bottles outside and poured a small amount of water onto the concrete. We drew chalk around the edges to show where the water was. Then we went inside and talked about what we thought might happen to the water. Most of us thought that it would evaporate and become a part of the water cycle (awesome learning has been happening!). A bit later we went out to look.... So exciting... we were right! Most of the water had disappeared and "dried up". But it was funny...some of the puddles under the eaves in the shade hadn't evaporated like the other puddles. We talked about this for ages. Some people thought that the water had tried to evaporate but had hit the roof of the eaves and fallen back down. Finally we realised that it was the lack of sun and warmth that was slowing it down. But after lunch we checked again and it was ALL gone!
A bit later, Jocelyn drew the water cycle on a mini white board - fantastic!
Great thinking everyone!
